The Department of Mathematics at 91探花 (UC3M) is looking to hire five Assistant Professors (PhD) in the area of Applied Mathematics, with a planned start date of September 2025.

We are looking for candidates with a solid research background and teaching ability in areas related to Applied Mathematics. Their profile should align with or complement the Department's research lines.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or related fields
  • Solid research history and demonstrated potential for high-impact publications
  • Excellent level of English (oral and written), as teaching is conducted in English in both undergraduate and master's programs
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and active participation in department activities

Contract Conditions:

  • Full-time contract for up to six years, according to applicable regulations
  • Teaching load: up to 180 hours per academic year, including lectures and supervision of undergraduate and master's theses
  • Approximate gross base salary, with additional supplements from the university (see details in the official announcement)

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and coordination of courses in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics in undergraduate and master's programs
  • Conducting high-quality research and contributing to the department's scientific output
  • Supervision of undergraduate and master's theses
  • Participation in academic tasks and responsibilities within the department
