Presentation
The Digital Humanities emerge at the crossroads between humanities disciplines and digital technologies. The emergence of cutting-edge applications and tools opens up new avenues of analysis, research and dissemination, from hitherto unpublished perspectives, in disciplines such as history, literature, philosophy, geography, linguistics and art.
The Bachelor's Degree in Digital Humanities at the 91̽»¨, a pioneer in Spanish public universities, offers comprehensive and up-to-date training with a practical and innovative approach. The programme combines solid teaching of traditional humanities disciplines with learning in applied digital technologies. Students will be trained, for example, in the digitisation and visualisation of historical and literary sources, the use and study of large language models, the use of geolocation systems, the preservation and dissemination of artistic and cultural heritage in virtual environments and the management and analysis of databases. At the same time, the degree will critically address the ethical and legal challenges of today's digital world, including the social, ecological and political implications of Artificial Intelligence, recommendation algorithms and social networks in the fields of culture, the arts and the humanities.
