Application
The request must be submitted electronically through our application system. Before beginning the admission process, please read the following information:
REQUIREMENTS
To access this master's degree it is necessary to have a bachelor degree in Aerospace Engineering, which is the main access profile. Access is also possible for students with a degree in other related disciplines such as the following ones, with the additional requirement of taking complementary training courses:
- Mechanical engineering, energy engineering, industrial engineering, physical engineering
- Physics, mathematical physics
- Mathematics, applied mathematics, mathematics and computing
COMPLEMENTARY TRAINING COURSES
The various additional access profiles (i.e. those different from a degree in aerospace engineering) must take one or more complements (up to 10 ECTS) attending, as a general rule, to the following criteria:
- All additional profiles must take the subject Introduction to Aircraft and Flight Physics
- Those profiles that have taken less than 9 credits in the subject of point and rigid solid mechanics, must take the complement Classical mechanics in aerospace engineering
- Those profiles that have taken less than 9 credits in fluid mechanics, 6 in thermodynamics/thermal engineering, and 9 in solid mechanics must take the complement Fluid and solid mechanics in aerospace engineering
The Master’s Steering Committee has the authority to review the details of the curricula previously completed by prospective students and determine the need for additional training complements to those specified by the above criteria.
ADMISSION CRITERIA
The suitability and ranking of the candidate applications will be done according to:
ADMISSION CRITERIA WEIGHTING Academic record of access studies (*) Up to 70 points Letters of recommendation and other merits (**) Up to 25 points English level (beyond the minimum required level, B2) Up to 5 points (*) Regarding the academic record of the degree that motivates access, the following will be taken into account: the average grade, the number of years taken to obtain the degree, and the adequacy of the study program to the program of the master's degree.
(**) Other merits that may be considered, at the discretion of the Steering Committee, include: other academic studies, previous professional and research experience, scholarships and awards received, letter of motivation, other languages, etc.
ADMISSION PROFILE
Students accessing this master's degree must have excellent prior training in aerospace engineering sciences, mainly in applied mathematics, mechanics, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics. Adequate knowledge of the language of instruction and work of the master's degree, English, is obviously necessary.
They must also have key aptitudes and qualities to successfully carry out high-quality R&D&I activities in aerospace engineering, such as intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, analytical skills, rigor, and honesty.
Furthermore, given the teaching methodology, they must be able to work and organize themselves both independently and as part of a team, have good oral and written communication skills, and perseverance. Interest in aerospace engineering is equally necessary, as well as creativity, imagination, innovation, and motivation for continuous learning.
